Customs find $4.6m cash in furniture

Mexican customs inspectors found more than US$3.3 million ($4.6 million) in cash stuffed into mattress pads and television cabinets bound for Venezuela, authorities said.

The Tax Authority said the cash was found after gamma-ray scans showed unusual shapes inside a shipment of home furnishings at Mexico City's international airport.

A sniffer dog confirmed something was odd about the shipment, it said.
