Chihuahua brings San Francisco traffic to a standstill

Police in San Francisco locked down a busy bridge to pursue a tiny dog who was on the run.

Dash cam footage from a patrol car shows a police officer on a motorcycle pursuing the small black chihuahua who is running down the westbound lane on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.

California Highway Patrol posted footage of the incident which temporarily brought traffic to a near standstill.

In the footage the small dog appears to roam the bridge freely, racing across the lanes.

The dog was eventually recovered and turned over to San Francisco Animal Care & Control, which will try to find its owner or a new home.
