Chechen exile killed in Dubai

A Chechen man was shot dead in Dubai, in what police said appeared to be an assassination.

Suleyman Madov had been "subjected to close monitoring" before being shot in the parking lot of the building where he lived, Dubai police Chief Dhahi Khalfan said, without elaborating.

Chechen exiles say three Chechens were assassinated in the last six months in Istanbul and Vienna. Some had fought Russian forces in the 1990s before going into exile.
