One local told the Daily Record: "Apparently the driver lost control and hit someone he knew.
'Loads of folk rushed to help and get the car off the guy who was hit. He looked seriously hurt but no one has heard how he is yet."
Another said: "It was my daughter's friends who helped lift the car and rather proud of them all.
"One young lad tried to knock down a certain person but hit his own pal instead. A few people seen the lot and gave statements to police."
Community activist Michael Traill wrote on Twitter: "Serious accidents on Great Junction Street on Friday and Saturday night.
"Thoughts with those injured. Driver or pedestrian error?"
It was the second incident on the same street within 24 hours.
On Friday night, a man was hit by a vehicle and was taken to hospital for head injuries.
He reportedly needed six stitches to his head would and stayed in A&E overnight.
Both incidents are being investigated by Police Scotland. MailOnline has contacted the force for comment.
