One-year-old Mateus Araujo weighs a hefty 25kg, which is three times more than the average baby and no-one knows why.
He has undergone a series of examinations but doctors have still not identified any obvious problems.
"I noticed he was gaining too much weight when he was three
months old because he was weighing ten kilos already", Aline Souza, Mateus mother, said.
Mateus has been breast-fed since birth and doctors are baffled by his obesity.
His mother has back ache from carrying him and is desperate for a solution.
If the toddler continues to balloon at the same rate he will weigh 400kg by the time he is 16.
