Border pullback

Cambodia and Thailand agreed to pull back 1200 troops stationed near a historic temple, a symbolic gesture that fell short of ending a long border dispute that has stirred nationalist anger on both sides.

After more than 12 hours of talks, they failed to resolve the central issue of how to demarcate a slice of land near the 11th century Preah Vihear temple. No date was set for the next meeting.
