Bikies in wild strip club brawl in Canberra

Shocking CCTV footage has emerged of a violent shirts-off bikie brawl at a strip club in Canberra.

Around 100 members of the Comancheros Outlaw Motorcycle Gang from around Australia were in the ACT last August for a gang memorial run.

Paea Talakai, 27, today pleaded guilty to one count of affray over the brawl at the Capital Men's Club in Fyshwick on August 20, Nine News reports.

He denies being a member of the Comancheros at the time of the incident.

CCTV played in court showed a fight between two men escalating into a punch-up in the smokers' area of the club.

The fight turned into a violent mass brawl in the main bar. At one point a man was knocked to the ground and kicked and punched before being left unconscious.

The shocking footage shows female workers at the club attempting to help the unconscious man as the violence continues.

The fight went for about 10 minutes and caused the club to be shut for the rest of the night.

Prosecutor Anthony Williamson told the court Talakai was a "card-carrying" member of the Comancheros group.

The fight between two men soon turned into a mass brawl.

Talakai is shown on CCTV footage before entering the club.

He said Talakai was "scanning the crowd" during the incident "looking for people to hit".

"The offender had multiple opportunities to disengage," Williamson told the court.

According to court documents, police arrived at the strip club at 3:15am, and found 20 Comanchero members preparing to leave.

The documents state that none of the men would speak with police or provide a statement.

Talakai's defence lawyer Adrian McKenna told the court his client was not a member of any bikie gang.

He also said Talakai had been receiving treatment for alcohol abuse and anger management.

"He accepts what he did is wrong … he accepts alcohol is a problem," McKenna said.

Talakai is set to return to court next week after the hearing was adjourned, Nine reports.
