At least 12 die in Paris hotel blaze

PARIS - At least 12 people have died in a Paris hotel blaze, the fire brigade said on Friday.

"So far there are 12 dead, 10 seriously injured and about 50 more people slightly hurt," a spokesman said.

Police said the fire was at the Paris-Opera hotel in a central area of the French capital close to the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps shops which many tourists visit.
