$43 million Ecstasy drug seizure in Sydney

Two men have been arrested in Sydney following the seizure of 161kg of the drug Ecstasy with a street value of A$40 million ($43 million).

One of the men was in an undisclosed Sydney hospital last night. The other was denied bail in Central Local Court and remanded in custody until his next hearing in March.

Both men were charged with importing drugs.

The haul of 800,000 tablets of the party drug was uncovered in a shipping container sent from Belgium.
