SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) Several longshoremen who worked at Puerto Rico's main seaport have been indicted on drug trafficking charges.
U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez said Friday that the suspects are accused of retrieving cocaine and heroin packages from cargo vessels that had arrived from Colombia and theDominican Republic. She said the men would deliver the packages to other suspects waiting outside the secured seaport.
Federal officials say they seized more than 340 kilograms (750 pounds) of cocaine and 12 kilograms (26 pounds) of heroin worth more than $10 million.
