Aucklander Jordan Watson shot to fame on the Internet as 'How to Dad'. This weekend he descended on Taihape with a film crew in tow, for the annual gumboot throwing competition.
"I am here to throw a gumboot, to win this competition, and be New Zealand's number one legendary gumbootthrower," says Mr Watson.
Mr Watson's YouTube video on how to hold a baby has been viewed more than two million times.
He may be a natural in front of the camera - but what about with gumboot throwing?
"I didn't really know about the different gumboots that you could throw, I mean, I just thought you threw your own. But turns out you have to throw one from the pile," says Mr Watson.
Rangitikei District Mayor Mayor Andy Watson was also competing in the contest, despite the risk of injury.
"My technique is called preserving my knees and preserving my dignity," says Mr Watson.
