Two Manawatu Prison inmates, charged in connection with the death of a fellow prisoner last month, have been remanded in custody.
One of the defendants, who has interim name suppression, is charged with the murder of 27-year-old Justin Kaa.
He was remanded to reappear at Palmerston North District Court on July 26 for a pre-depositions hearing.
The other, a 19-year-old, who also has interim name suppression, was remanded until June 18.
He is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and injuring with intent.
