Conor McGregor has unleashed his latest jab in his feud with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov - but the Irish fighter may have gone too far this time.
The UFC megastar claims to have retired from the Octagon but even if he does walk away from the fight game his trash talking doesn't seem to be going away.
It started when Nurmagomedov didn't believe McGregor's retirement announcement when he tweeted to his 7.56 million followers he was calling it quits, accusing the Irishman of playing games with the UFC to make more money from the MMA promotion.
"Conor acts like a jealous wife, who says, 'I will leave' all the time but then comes back," Nurmagomedov said.
McGregor bit back at Nurmagomedov's "wife" sledge with a marriage crack of his own, which he later deleted, that was labelled by many as "racist".
"You wife is a towel, mate," McGregor tweeted alongside a picture of Nurmagomedov and his better half who was wearing a religous garb.
Nurmagomedov, who is a muslim, reportedly got married in 2013 and McGregor was poking fun at his wife's look on their wedding day when she was covered by a veil.
A few fans took to Twitter to slam McGregor's "racist" insult.
McGregor hasn't won a fight since beating Eddie Alvarez in November 2016 to become the first UFC fighter to hold championship belts in two divisions at once. He was beaten by Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match in 2017 before returning to the Octagon against Nurmagomedov last year.
Nurmagomedov said he would like to fight again in September, two months after the end of his Nevada State Athletic Commission ban for the chaotic brawl with McGregor's team after their October fight.
