The winning entry of Kaleb Anderson who has been named Discovery Channel Intern 2018
Aucklander Kaleb Anderson has just booked a place on the adventure of a lifetime: a world tour, making films and blogging from all corners of the globe.
The 22-year-old from North Shore has been named the Discovery Channel Intern 2018.
His winning entries were filmed around Cathedral Cove, Coramandel, andin them he set out his mission:
"To take Discovery's followers on a journey beyond New Zealand's borders."
Over the course of fourteen weeks entries were whittled down to a long list of 50, before opening the competition to public voting. The broadcaster praised the young filmmaker's abilities who appeared early on as a clear contender.
"Kaleb's submissions stood out from the start and he quickly emerged as a fan favourite."
As one of five finalists Kaleb faced tough competition. The shortlisted candidates from across Australia and New Zealand also included another Kiwi, Sophie Piearcey from Queenstown.

However it was the 22-year-old's stunning pictures of the beautiful North Island which secured him the coveted place on the round the world trip.
The internship has now been claimed two years in a row by New Zealanders. Kaleb was awarded the title from last year's winner and inaugural Discovery Channel Intern, Ben Mikha.
