Travel and drink go hand in hand.

Drinkers drink more alcohol when they travel. For the most part, that's a good thing. You're in a new part of the world so try the wine, sample the regional cocktail and meet the locals in a dive bar. Here in Travel, we celebrate the great drinks encountered around the world in our irregular "Bar/fly" column.

But sometimes it's time to say "enough". That's why the New Zealand Herald travel team has joined DryJuly. Many of us have been on the road a lot in recent weeks, so a spell on the wagon will be good for our livers.
