Wild about the Alaskan ranges

The Alaskan wilderness can be seen first hand on an eight-day tour that includes two nights at the Denali Wilderness Lodge, deep in the Alaska Range.

Optional hiking and horseback-riding promises possible sightings of brown bears, moose and Dall sheep.

A four-night cruise on Prince William Sound offers the chance to see whales, sea otters, sealions, porpoises, eagles and bears on shore.

The package is available on the Cruise West ship Spirit of Oceanus, which carries 114 passengers in outside-only staterooms. Eight- and 10-night cruises starting next June are from Victoria, British Columbia or Alaska.
