The White House said details about other White House events, including the annual Easter Egg Roll and spring garden tours, will be forthcoming.
Why is it called the White House?
Throughout history, the building was often referred to as Presidential Mansion, the President's Palace, or President's House.
The first time it was described as the "White House" was in 1811. Speculation suggests the name came from the colour of paint they used to mask the fire damage caused by the Burning of Washington.
Officially, it was called "Executive Mansion" until 1901, when President Theodore Roosevelt had "White House–Washington" put on the stationery.
The most recent visitor log, November 2021, counted 4608 visitor entries to the White House, compared to just 400 entries in January 2021.
