Whakatane Midwinter Madness Carnival

Midwinter madness is catching, and on July 11 Whakatane joins the craziness with its annual Midwinter Madness Carnival organised by Whakatane Wow!

On this family-oriented, community-based night, the main street is closed off at about 6pm and filled with foam to resemble snow.

There's plenty of action with street entertainers, bands and buskers, and stores come to the party by providing plenty of specials.

The evening finishes at 10pm.
