It's alive!
Fans of the Ben Stiller classic which sees him playanight guard at New York City's Museum of Natural History can relive a little of that Hollywood magic at the Auckland Museum next Sunday. Night at Auckland Museum: Secrets...shhh! allows guests to freely roam the museum's galleries by torchlight encountering various characters from history who have "come alive", including a Pacific navigator, a suffragette, a dinosaur, a Maori princess, a couple of soldiers and even an ancient Egyptian servant. Pedal to the metal
The mountain-biking mecca of Rotorua is the place to be this Sunday for the launch of 2018's Gloworm Lights Winter MTB series. Riders have three courses to choose from, with the longest clocking in at 41km. All levels of rider are catered for during the series from social to serious, with two other events in the series to look forward to on August 5 and September 9. Ride starts at the Waipa MTB car park, Waipa State Mill Rd, Rotorua, Sunday, July 1 from 9.30am.

Wellington's Waterfront will come alive this Saturday as the Winter Pop-Up Village, featuring designer container stalls offering homewares, art, gifts, clothing and accessories gets under way for the month of July. Makeaday of it and enjoy the temporary ice-skating rink, pop-up sauna and food trucks also on the wharf, and after you're done perhaps enjoy a stroll through Te Papa.
