Vanuatu for Christmas

Finding available flights and accommodation is already proving a struggle for some travel agents helping New Zealanders to make holiday plans for Christmas and the New Year. The Itchy Feet travel company in Auckland reckons the best deal has to be to Vanuatu, where there is no surcharge over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Despite a lack of seats in the ultra-cheap fare category, you can get seven nights at the White Sands Country Club for $889 a person, twin share. Each extra night costs $73. The bonus is continental breakfast and a free round of golf.
