Uncovering Rotorua's buried village history

Te Wairoa, the buried village, has been interpreting the scene of the Mt Tarawera eruption for tourists for 75 years. As part of its jubilee programme, the complex will host Party in the Park from Sunday, April 23 to Tuesday, April 25. The event includes pioneer games, pa activities, storytelling in the whare, horse and buggy rides, cultural performances, kite flying, a poster competition and educational task sheets.
