A businesswoman and former model booked an entire hotel in the US so she could relax undisturbed by “general riff-raff”.
In a bid to meditate at the beach without noisy kids and undesirable holidaymakers, Victoria Unikel reportedly spent more than US$20,000 ($35,255) on a 24-hour stay for her 47th birthdaywith her husband Gene Avakyan.
According to the Daily Mail, the former model and actor rented the property in the Florida Keys – for a mid-week discounted rate – so she could meditate alone “on the property’s private strip of sand”.
“[Booking out the whole hotel] got rid of the general riff-raff that is normally in hotels, which I don’t like,” she explained.
In video footage obtained by the Daily Mail, Unikel can be seen enjoying the property’s sun, sea and serenity, void of any other guests or hullabaloo.
The Miami-based business mogul, who co-founded VUGA Media Group with her husband, said: “I booked out the hotel for my birthday. It was fun and allowed me to avoid noisy kids and the hustle and bustle.”
Unikel is also a children’s author, having recently published her debut novel – Emma + Luke = Disappear Nowhere.
Speaking of her experience at the deserted resort, Unikel details time spent relaxing at the beach, pool and restaurant, while also enjoying the birds.
“But my favourite thing I did was meditate,” she said.
Far from a simple holiday activity, Unikel tells the Daily Mail “My meditation is not just to help me calm down. It also allows me to manifest future events – and it works.”

Unikel didn’t disclose what she was currently manifesting, but in 2025 she is looking to increase her business portfolio with a new luxury travel clothing brand named “RCH BTCH”, as part of her fashion brand, Unikel Couture.
While many of us might only dream of booking an entire hotel for ourselves, Unikel has no intention of repeating the luxury for her next birthday.
“While it was a unique experience, I don’t think I’ll do it again next year,” she surmised.
