Tour with a twist

Heroic Gardens is an Auckland summer garden festival with a difference. The festival visits some of the most innovative, quirky and creative gardens in Auckland.

An annual event since 1997, the gardens are open over the weekend of February 8-9.

The tour raises funds to help meet the running costs of the Auckland City Mission's Herne Bay House (New Zealand's only residential service for people living with HIV and Aids).

The 25 gardens range in style from kitsch cottage and rambling country, through to Pacific rim and tropical.

Tickets are $25, and valid for all gardens all weekend.
