Need some colourful content for your Instagram page? Or perhaps you just fancy emerging yourself in a bold city that's bound to put a smile on your dial.

With the help of Booking.com, we've compiled a list of the most vibrant cities to inspire your next holiday. Whether you want to watch a bright sunset from a pure white beach in Rio, or explore the sensory overload of Jaipur, this list will help you inject some colour into your next trip.

Chefchaouen, Morocco

This incredible city has to be one of the top destinations when it comes to colour. Located in the beautiful Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a photographer's dream. The vibrant blue and white buildings will look as dreamy on your social media pages as they do in real life.

This striking city has plenty to offer travellers, with the nearby mountains providing a maze of valleys, streams and picturesque vistas. And don't forget to indulge in some of the equally colourful (and delicious) Moroccan food.

Jaipur, India

From the blue city to the pink city, the historical city of Jaipur is a gorgeous flood of terracotta pink buildings. This is thanks to the Indian Prince, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh, who wanted to impress Prince Albert on his 1876 visit by colouring the city to represent warmth and welcome. There's plenty to take in, including the stunning City Palace, Pritam Niwas Chowk (a gateway to the square) and Jantar Mantar (a monument built by the Indian Prince Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II).

Buenos Aires, Argentina

The bright city of Buenos Aires, with its many rainbow coloured houses, will serve as the perfect 'Instagrammable' location. Take a trip to the Casa Rosada Pink Castle, become a Boca fan at the La Bombonera Stadium, or visit the folk market of Feria de Mataderos to find some new trinkets. With a vibrant music, art and food scene, being bored in this lively city would be a challenge.

Rio is renowned for its colourful party scene and also its colourful houses. Local towns have been transformed into pieces of art thanks to Dutch artists, Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn. After exploring the colourful city scenes, make sure you head to the famous Copacabana Beach to catch some rays with a cocktail in hand - what more could you ask for?
