The ultimate luxury cruise - for just $1.8 million a ticket

The ultimate luxury holiday cruise comes complete with caviar, helicopters and a Michelin starred chef - all for the price of more than $1.8 million per couple.

British cruise retailer Six Star Cruises has created a 124-day vacation which drips with excess while visiting New Zealand and 27 other countries.

The 'cruise of a lifetime' aboard the Silver Whisper works out at NZ$15,169 (£8000) per day, reported the Daily Mail.

Six Star Cruises' director Mal Barrit said: "We have listened to what our most discerning customers say they look for in a holiday, and created the most desirable cruise in the world."

The holiday begins for British passengers when they are picked up by a helicopter, and flown from their home to a London airport.

While choppering to the airport, passengers can feast on Beluga Caviar, priced at NZ$7584 per kilogram, sip on rare Da Hong Pao Tea harvested from 1000-year-old plants, or down a glass or two of Dom Perignon Rosi.

Cruisers then board a private jet to travel to Los Angeles where the cruise liner departs from.

The jet boasts a top Michelin starred chef who can create a 10-course tasting menu, a dining room, bedroom and lounge, with gold-plated fixtures and mahogany panelling.

Upon landing in the US, passengers are treated to a four-night stopover in Los Angeles' exclusive Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

The cruise liner then departs Los Angeles to visit 28 countries around the world, including French Polynesia, Malaysia, the Maldives and Mauritius. Holidaymakers can stay in the Royal Suite aboard the liner, a two-bedroom suite boasting its own bar and veranda.

The holiday ends with four nights in a NZ$13,842 suite on Sunset Island, Miami.

Six Star Cruises has not indicated whether any passengers have signed up for the journey, which begins when the cruise leaves in January next year.
