The great race on the Waikato river

On Sunday, September 7, Waikato University takes on England's Oxford University in the international rowing event, the Gallagher Boathouse Eights, held on the Waikato River in Hamilton.

After a week of lead-up events, including a glamorous masquerade ball, the day will kick off at 10am with a market, street entertainers and other pre-race entertainment and activities.

There are licenced areas, and food will be available all day. The feature event is at 2.30pm.
