Interiors are well designed and in great condition. Abstract paintings match the linen and modern grey furniture. The balcony has views of rooftops and the city.
The price: From A$115 per night.
Bathroom: Clean and tip-top condition. Shower has great pressure and includes a tub. Good for those with kids. No complaints here.
What's so good about this place: It's quiet. Located off the main drag means some quality sleeping. The walls feel like solid concrete too, which is great if the half-deaf guest next door decides to crank up the TV.
What's in the neighbourhood: A five-minute walk to Darling Harbour or Chinatown and Paddy's Markets. The 10 minutes to the central train station means the city's your oyster.
The bed: The firm, super-comfy king-size bed can be separated into two singles if required.
Food and drink: The largest water feature I have ever seen in a restaurant. It runs across the entire ceiling, down the wall and ends in a long pool next to your table. All that's missing is the live salmon swimming upstream. The bar has house-branded beer on tap.
Value for money: It's just outside the CBD and four star, so more affordable than inner-city hotels, while still being within close distance of most attractions.
Wi-Fi: Unrestricted and fast. It is good enough to stream a Netflix movie on an iPad with no stuttering or buffering issues. If you forget your own device, you can log in to Netflix or YouTube on the smart TV. Would I return: With the great location, affordability and immaculate presentation I wouldn't hesitate staying here for a function or as a great base for exploring Sydney.
