Shake off the winter blues in Russell

The seaside town of Russell in the Bay of Islands is wasting no time in welcoming spring.

The first annual Spring Festival is set for the weekend of September 6-8, encouraging locals and visitors to shake off the winter blues.

The busy schedule includes a cocktail party, a monster garage sale at Russell Primary School, a Spring Parade through the town, a wheelbarrow derby, beach dig and a talent quest.

Businesses will highlight Spring with their displays and menus and Kimberley Lodge will offer special spring accommodation packages.
