In the past four years, the lodge has played host to several high-powered guests eager to take advantage of that privacy.
Ms Moore would not divulge names, but said Hollywood stars were among those who had stayed.
"Suffice to say there have been a number of famous and wealthy clientele. They are big names." The lodge has only three suites and accommodates a maximum of nine people.
Guests are given exclusive use of the property, which is a 15-minute drive from central Rotorua, and have access to private beaches, a jetty and helipad.
They can take part in activities such as kayaking, fishing and helicopter rides over White Island.
The lodge is currently undergoing refurbishment to add a new wine cellar, spa and massage centre, and gym.
Prices start at $6500 a night per couple in the peak summer season, and include breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and a four-course dinner.
Ms Moore said the overseas guests tended to want a New Zealand experience, so purely local produce, for example, was used in the kitchen.
Originally from Hong Kong, Ms Moore said the lakeside location was a major drawcard and she felt captivated whenever she looked out the window.
"It's quite inspirational, I can tell you. The lake is so beautiful, it's changing every minute."
