It takes a lot to bring a fresh take to Van Gogh's artworks.
Van Gogh's paintings appear on countless apartment walls, screen savers, and - recently - in each of the hand painted 65,000 frames of the 2018 film Loving Vincent.
Two years ago, the Art Institute of Chicago painstakinglyrecreated the Dutch artist's bedroom from his paintings and let it on the holiday website Airbnb.

The digital art centre L'Atelier des Lumieres in Paris has translated the most well-known works such as Sunflowers and Potato Eaters into warehouse sized spaces.
The exhibition "La nuit étoilée" projects the characteristic brush strokes onto wall sized canvasses, and brings episodes to life with animation and a musical accompaniment by composer Luca Longobardi.

In stages it follows the life of Van Gogh round Paris, Holland and into an asylum. Following the works in chronological order the exhibition guides visitors through his advances as a painter as his sanity deteriorated.
