An Arrowtown hotel has been named New Zealand's best for the third time running.
Millbrook Resort won the top New Zealand hotel category of American travel website TripAdvisor's 2015 Travellers' Choice awards and was placed fourth within the South Pacific region. The luxury hotel sits on 200ha, featuresa 27-hole golf course, four restaurants, a spa, a health and fitness centre and conference facilities.
It has hosted former United States President Bill Clinton, and in 2013 Prime Minister John Key named it his pick of places to stay in Otago.
The average nightly room rate ranges from $260 to $705. The Overseas Investment Office recently approved the purchase by its Japanese owners, the Ishii family, of 66ha next door.
The TripAdvisor ranking was based on reviews by people using the website last year.
The resort's head of operations, Brian Howie, said winning the award three years in a row was a terrific accolade.
