Old-time regatta

The Old Time Mahurangi River Regatta is a traditional event that attracts entries from all over New Zealand. From vantage points at Sullivan's Bay, Scott's Landing and Mahurangi Harbour you can watch races that include gaff-rigged vessels, A-class keelers and faithfully restored or replicated sailing vessels and classic launches.

Racing starts at noon on January 24, but onshore action starts mid-morning, with plenty of activities for all ages. In the evening an Old Time Maritime Ball is being held for the first time since World War II. It will be held at historic Scott Homestead, and guests are asked to wear evening attire from the 1939-1945 period.
