Norwegian liner gets with it

New super-ship Norwegian Star will make her maiden voyage from Hawaii just before Christmas.

The $US400 million ($NZ910 million) ship was built at Meyer Werft in northern Germany, and its owner Star Cruises says it is designed to be the benchmark of freestyle cruising - a concept offering many dining options, more relaxed dress codes, a higher rate of crew to passengers and a range of activities considered more contemporary, such as computer classes, wine appreciation classes, yoga and meditation, and extensive health facilities.

It will cruise seven-day Hawaiian itineraries.
