If you've ever wondered how many of those iconic boiled lollies get handed out on Air New Zealand flights each year, here's your answer.

Passengers munch their way through a phenomenal 14.5 million of the sweet treats, while the airline also pours out almost 8 million glasses of New Zealand wine.

New figures released by Air New Zealand for the last financial year found new Kiwi classic Hunt for the Wilderpeople to be the most viewed in-flight film — seen more than 177,000 times. Disney's Moana had the highest views by month, with an average of 39,000.

When it comes to tunes, Hello by Adele was most listened to on board, with around 5500 hits per month.

Judging by the number of lollies consumed, it seems Air New Zealand travellers have a sweet tooth — on domestic flights, the airline also served three times as many Cookie Time biscuits as savoury snacks (5.8 million cookies served v 1.8 million savoury snacks).

At dinner time, roast chicken with tarragon cream sauce, New Zealand roasted kumara and garden vegetables was the most popular main dish in Economy class with 530,000 portions served.

Overall, more than six million meals were served globally across the airline's networks.
Each year Air New Zealand operates around 176,000 flights, facilitating more than 15 million journeys.
