Snow on show
MTV's popular annual Snow Jam festival will be beamed around the world from Terrace Downs Resort on August 16.

The property is one hour's drive from Christchurch and 20 minutes from Mt Hutt and Methven, meaning the Southern Alps and Rakaia River will be the stunning backdrop for a range of top local and international acts. The action starts at 3pm and it's free.

Getaway to Gisborne
Labour Weekend might seem a long way off, but tickets are already on sale for the Gisborne Wine & Food Festival on Sunday October 26. Walks in winter
The Otago Settlers Museum continues its guided theme walks through Dunedin over winter. On July 20 the Inner City Sculpture Trail encompasses both historical and contemporary inner-city sculptural highlights. On August 9 Walk the High Street takes in the city's residential architecture and intriguing social history, and on August 16 Towers and Transoms looks at the designs of prominent architect R.A. Lawson.

Tours cost $10 and depart at 2pm. Other tours are also available.
