What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
I went on this stupidly high zip line thing in Roatan, an island off Honduras. It was only when I set off on that I remembered how bad I was with heights. I nearly passed out dangling 100 feet above the trees.
Complete this sentence: I can't travel without ... my iPad. I know that the internet has taken a certain amount of "spontaneity" out of travel but it is just so handy.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Avoid the bread rolls on long-haul flights because of the related bloating issues.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
I once spent one night in Cambodia because I was doing some gigs in the Asia. The promoter took me out for some food before the show and it was beyond delicious.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
I brought back wood termites buried in my backside from Borneo. Granted, as souvenirs go they weren't the best but it's a good after dinner story.
Favourite airport to land at?
Queenstown has to win that prize. The backdrop of the Remarkables is hard to beat.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
Next month, I am going on a four-day dive trip to Lanzarote. They have just opened Museo Atlantico, a sculpture museum on the seabed that you dive around. I'm curious to see if they have a gift shop.
