Dunedin. It wouldn't test Scotty's beaming abilities much, given I live in Invercargill. So much to do in close proximity and lots of hidden gems, such as Tunnel Beach. The Planetarium is the latest fantastic addition, and the city has my favourite place on Earth to visit for work or play - Forsyth Barr Stadium.
How about a dream holiday internationally?
There's only one international experience on my bucket list and that's the journey from London to Venice on the Orient Express. Out of my reach financially and just a dream, but such a pleasant one. It oozes class and history with an obvious literary connection.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
Let a companion convince me to separately check bags on to a train in France instead of taking them on board. Two days later, a horrendous commute from one side of the capital to the other to retrieve them, and somehow the edge was taken off the Parisian experience.
What's your best travel tip?
Travel with your partner before proposing marriage. Nothing like an extended holiday overseas to test a relationship. If you're still talking once you get home, things are looking up.
Favourite airport to land at?
Invercargill, of course, especially now we have a fantastic new terminal and I get a hug from Ange from Air New Zealand every time on arrival.
