What was your greatest holiday?
Cruising around Europe in between rugby seasons in 2012. Saw Germany, Italy, Greek Islands and Portugal, and did the Sail Croatia week. Hvar was brilliant - that and Turkey were my favourites.
And the worst?
Egypt's pyramids. I got fleeced of all my cash in a mini hostage situation involving a camel.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
In New Zealand I'd be relaxing on the deck with mates or be out on the water fishing. Overseas, I'd be checking out the sights.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
Matarangi on the Coromandel. Great place to relax.
How about for a dream holiday internationally?
I have always wanted to have a decent look around the States, so that's something for the future hopefully.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
Went to a magic show in Las Vegas on day three of the trip - I slept through the whole thing.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Jump on the red sightseeing buses when you get to a foreign city, it's the easiest way to check out everything.
Favourite airport at which to land?
Vancouver is pretty awesome, coming in over the islands and harbour, but when I've been away from New Zealand a while you can't beat the feeling of dropping into Auckland.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
At this stage the Rugby World Cup in the UK with All Black Tours and I'm returning to Japan for rugby season soon.
Stephen Donald is the 2015 Rugby World Cup All Blacks Tours ambassador. This legend of Waiuku, Counties, Chiefs and All Blacks rugby leads a Fan Flight for the semifinals onwards with Graham Henry.
Stephen is also one of the speakers at the NZME. Legends in Black dinner, being held on the 23 July, 6pm - 10:30pm at Eden Park.
