What was your greatest holiday? My greatest holiday was also my worst. For my 30th birthday, my mate and I flew to England to see the Black Caps play cricket at Lord's. The anticipation was massive and being at the mighty Lord's was epic. The test match had its usualdrama but what hurt most was we got slammed by England. Not good. Lots of funny moments on this trip though - like when the flight attendant was handed my friend's carry-on luggage (a long bag).
She asked, "Is this golf clubs?" My friend Richard had to tell her that no, in fact it was his prosthetic leg. Gold.
And the worst? See above.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing? I'm usually on the beach or talking about how I'm about to go on a big run.
What's your dream destination? My husband's family have a bach at Tata Beach, Golden Bay. Being there is always super relaxing and the swimming and fishing is fantastic. Feels dreamy to be there. Also, I love sport and I love travel so my fantasy would be to combine them both for the ultimate high. I'd love to attend a football world cup overseas and go nuts.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip? The most beautiful blue and pink shells from Great Barrier. Never seen anything like them. Favourite airport at which to land? Auckland. It always feels so good to get home.
What's the next trip you've got planned? Well, I have Spanish blood (a little bit) and I'm itching to get back to my people! I want to go dance in the streets and talk with my hands and I have a loud laugh, so surely back home in Spain I'll just fit right in.
