What was your greatest holiday? A trek through the Indonesian jungle, camping by a river, seeing elephants, orangutans and turtles.
And the worst? Christmas in Cornwall... a bunch of us rented a house there, it ended in pneumonia, fights and break-ups.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing? These days, I'll be on a mountain bike, or a paddle-board.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be? Coromandel ... I long to revisit Hot Water Beach.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given? Take less stuff.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling? Once when I was about 10, on holiday with my parents in France, I ordered omelette and chips. The chips were not on the side, but folded into the actual omelette. We still talk about it.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip? A 16th century Portuguese swivel cannon, the forerunner of the machine gun.
Favourite airport at which to land? Sumburgh Airport, in the Shetland Isles.
What's the next trip you've got planned? A build-your-own log-raft and camping expedition in Sweden.
