How I travel: Ed Sims

Do you travel light or heavy?
Always heavier than I intend - New Zealand's normally the opposite climate to where I'm travelling.

Cattle or first class?
Wherever I can find a seat on Air NZ!

I can't travel without ...
[My] iPod, Berocca and my Blackberry.

What type of suitcase do you carry?
A cabin crew bag - they have lots of secret pockets.

What's always in your hand luggage?
A card from my wife that she finds a way of secreting without me knowing.

Are you a planner or last-minute packer?
A last-minute flapper with aspirations of being organised.

What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
A Mexican papier mache cat that I bought for $10 for which my wife berated me for haggling too hard for!

Favourite airport to land in?
Queenstown - breathtaking, every time.

Best travel tip?
Structure work/sleep/relaxation to the arrival time zone.

Most memorable trip?
A Heathrow/Manchester shuttle flight for an interview after my 2-year-old daughter had thrown up all over me at the airport.

What do you do while on the plane?
Tracklist the music on our Inflight Entertainment system (it's a boy thing).
