The Echo Walking Festival (above) is a series of 20 walks that explore the gold-mining trails and flora and fauna of the southern Coromandel and Kaimai Ranges. It runs April 18-27.
It's show time The Royal Easter Showruns from April 9-13 at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland. There are carnival rides and a FarmZone where kids can get close to farm animals. Entry is $38 (family), $18 (adult), $7 (12 and under), $12 (seniors & students).
