The day after Valentine's Day and the closing of Christchurch's Festival of Romance, the city becomes vibrant with colour for the week-long Festival of Flowers.
Floral events include evening walking tours at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, tours of private gardens, street parades, a floral carpet and inner-city walk, and a giantflower basket, big enough to walk through. Most events are free, and the event runs from February 15 to 24.
