Flight attendants thwart frisky passengers' shameless attempts at joining 'Mile High Club'

Plane crews have taken to the web to complain of the growing problem of frisky passengers "getting busy" on board flights.

The act of having sex on a plane which has been referred to in pop-culture as "Joining the Mile High Club" is nowhere near as glamorous as this euphemism makes it sound.

Public bathrooms on planes have become a cause for concern for flight attendants, who have had to raise their vigilance for pairs of passengers slipping to the restrooms.

Here are some of the worst offenders as caught by flight attendants and fellow passengers:

A flight attendant of 3 years who goes under the reddit pseudonym manic_unicorn had a co-worker complain to her of a bad experience in business class: " she had two people in first class (during sleep time with all the lights off) having sex in one of their seats."

Another flight attendant, Rangarig93, described how a couple were caught taking liberties on a plane:

"Couple gets on the plane in high spirits and make themselves comfortable in the last row of the plane (where out galley is), Myself and the other FA don't think much about it and go about our business. After service is done we stow the carts and I notice that there was a jacket covering the guy, and the lady was half under it.

"I'm tapping the other FA on the shoulder and whisper "Is this really happening??" The lady's hands were clearly in his pants and the guy reclined his chair all the way to enjoy what was happening.

We had thought about getting them to stop but were too uncomfortable to start a conversation and they weren't making, well, any noise, … So, we went back to doing our jobs."

Flight attendant ChaneI has a story of how a close encounter was narrowly averted by virtue of the passengers being "on the larger side."

"I was recently on a flight where two people made it obvious that they were trying to do the nasty.

"They tried to both squeeze into a bathroom not so quietly and it failed as they couldn't get the door to even close."
