If you haven't been to the capital of South Australia, you might be surprised by how cute it actually is. Historic buildings line the River Torrens behind which sits the newly upgraded Adelaide Oval. Free trams run through the CBD and beaches and vineyards are all within cooee.

href="http://www.adelaidecentralmarket.com.au/" target="_blank">Adelaide Central Market is open Tuesday - Saturday and is a trove of 80 farm to table and artisan producers selling top quality, fresh food. It's been here for 140 years and is ideal for picking up happy hour nibbles like cheeses, olives, breads, dips and spreads. If you're staying longer, this is also the place locals and restaurateurs come to stock up on meat, veges and fruit.
2. Shopping on Rundle Mall is three glorious blocks of pedestrianised shopping that'll make every shoppers heart race. You'll find all the Aussie brands we have here plus a few more like David Jones, Myer, Target, FCUK and Zu footwear. Beyond the mall along Rundle Street are more boutiques and eateries.
3. Glenelg Beach is only 10km away. Take the tram from North Terrace and enjoy a day browsing the shops and dining at the many cafes with tables that spill onto the footpath. We accidentally stumbled upon schnitzel night at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club and had a blast with the locals - all for $12!
4. Hahndorf is a quaint German town in the Adelaide Hills, about half an hour up the road. Rent a car for the day (or stay overnight) and wander the main street under the 100 year old Elm and Plane trees. You'll find eateries, galleries and boutiques and pubs offering authentic German fare with music to match.
