Fiesta of Lights in Hastings

Diving penguins, a fiery sea dragon, bouncing kiwi and leaping deer are some of the exciting light and motion displays at the Fiesta of Lights at Waikoko Gardens in Hastings.

From December 17-January 7, the gardens are transformed into an illuminated fantasy world, with live entertainment every night.

A fireworks extravaganza will be held on opening and closing nights, and a family New Year's Eve celebration is also planned. It runs 9.15pm-11pm (8.30pm-midnight New Year's Eve).

Admission is $3, and free for kids under 5.

The New Year's Eve fireworks display costs $5 (adult), $3 (5-16 years), under five free.

The fiesta is being held at the Hawkes Bay Showgrounds, Kenilworth Rd, and there's plenty of free parking.
