Festival of lights

Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important and colourful Indian festivals.

It signals the start of the Hindu New Year and marks a new beginning.

The Asia 2000 Diwali Festival allows New Zealanders to experience a traditional Indian festival with scrumptious food, free family entertainment, Bollywood dancing, traditional crafts and more.

The festival is on in Auckland on Sunday October 12, 10am-10.30pm at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre, 145 New North Rd and in Wellington, Saturday October 18, 3pm-10pm in the Civic Square and Town Hall.
