LAN Airlines has released a "seat-sale" airfare special, with fares from $2199 a person from Auckland to 16 destinations in South America, including Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Caracas, Quito and Guayaquil.
Fares are also available from Wellington and Christchurch and travel can begin on or after March 1, with a maximum stay of a month allowed in South America. Travel must be completed by September 30.
The seat sale is on until April 30. Airport taxes and surcharges are not included.
