No, it's not the Sheraton or the Four Seasons - New Zealand's latest accommodation provider to list its wares on Booking.com falls a little further off the beaten track.
The Department of Conversation has recently listed three of its unique properties on the popular accommodation site, in a bid tomake them more accessible to the general public.

The properties listed are Holdsworth Lodge, nestled on the outskirts of Tararua Forest Park; Te Kopi Homestead and Cottage, cozily wedged between the roiling Cook Straight and Aorangi Forest Park; and Pohangina Base, tucked away in the Pohangina Valley, bordering on Ruahine Forest Park.
DOC Manager of Trade, Marketing and Sales, Ross Shearer, said DOC was interested to see how their experiment would pan out.
"Our mission is not only to protect New Zealand's beautiful national parks and natural environment, but also to share them with all Kiwis and visitors in a responsible way," he said.

"We've always welcomed trampers and travellers into our lodges and huts across the country, and we were looking at other ways to open them up to a global audience and manage that process more effectively,"
Booking.com New Zealand Area Manager, Luke Ashall, said there were not many accommodation providers more iconic than DOC.
"We work with the biggest accommodation providers around the world," he said, "but there's nothing more unique than being able to list properties for an organisation like DOC.
