It should have been packed with families enjoying a day out at what is dubbed the happiest place on earth.
But after temperatures soared to a staggering 114F (45C) in California on Friday, Disneyland in Anaheim was left almost deserted, MailOnline Travel reports.
The Disney park was saidto have recorded its hottest day on record - and visitors decided to stay in air conditioned comfort rather than brave the oppressive outdoor temperatures.
For those who did venture into the theme park, they reported that waiting times for the most popular rides were down significantly and many were able to walk straight on them.
In addition, Theme Park Insider claimed that several all-outdoor attractions, including the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad had to be closed due to the heat.
It added that the only place that did have a long wait was the desk issuing refunds for 'Maxpass' tickets after an IT glitch rendered the premium passes useless.
Elsewhere, some outdoor vending carts were closed and visitors said that those that were open were given water and misters to help keep cool.
While pictures on the Mice Chat Facebook page, a fan account dedicated to Disney parks, showed outdoor cafes deserted and food stalls with the shutters down.
People were reminded to try to keep cool in the extreme temperatures as staff handed out cards reminding guests to stay hydrated.
But according to some cast members, first aid staff had to attend to many calls for visitors who had over-heated.
Amanda Newberry-Harris wrote on the Mice Chat account: 'I'm a cast member and a lot of guests did not prepare themselves for today.

"There was one medic run right after the other today. If you're going in this heat be prepared."
While Liz Kimble added: "Yesterday was too hot. 114-112 in Anaheim when we arrived.
"Went today, it was 97. We tapped out at 4.30pm. My kids were getting grouchy from the heat."
Disney's hottest day came as southern California was hit by a record-breaking heat wave over the weekend.
Los Angeles baked under 108-degree heat last Friday afternoon while San Diego County recorded a scorching 112 degrees Fahrenheit at 11am. In Woodland Hills the heat reached 115 degrees.
